The Bertus is licenced by Bakfiets.nl as a budget version of their Long model with no electric assist and is an extremely popular model in our fleet! Carry up to four children, or two children and a baby in a MaxiCosi in this excellent, fully featured low cost two-wheeled boxbike. The strong cargo box is reinforced by steel bands and bolted together, meaning that there is some flexibility for DIY adaptation (for example removing the sides to carry other types of cargo). We think it has a kind of cool ‘steam punk’ look about it! It only comes with a gloss black frame and low-maintenance roller brakes, and we order it in with 7 Shimano Nexus gears. Most of the Bakfiets.nl accessories will fit this bike, like the raintent for the box in a variety of colours, the toddler support seat and even an additional rear pannier rack.
